BC Services Card for Android app Unsecured Network error - update

The “Unsecured Network” message appears when your device does not have the latest security component needed to protect your information.

Choose the instructions that match your Android version:

Step 1: Find your Android version

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll down and tap About phone or About device
  3. Look for Android version

Then follow the steps for your version below.

Android 9.0 or Later Your device enforces newer security rules that require an up-to-date system patch.

To fix the error:

  1. Go to Settings → Software update
  2. Select Download and install
  3. Install all available updates
  4. Restart your device and open the BC Services Card app again

Android 6.0 to 8.x

Older Android versions cannot always receive the newest system patches, but you can still fix the error by updating the app.

To fix the error:

  1. Open Google Play Store
  2. Search for BC Services Card
  3. Select Update
  4. Reopen the app

Android Below 6.0

Devices below Android 6.0 do not meet minimum security requirements.

To proceed:

You will need to use a device running Android 6.0 or later.
